Cars Characters
Lightning McQueen
Lightning "Stickers" McQueen is the main protagonist in the film Cars.
He is a red racecar sponsored by Rust-eze Medicated Bumper Ointment ("With Just a Little Rust-eze, you can look like Lightning McQueen!"). He is #95 in the movie, and at the beginning of the movie, he is racing his first Piston Cup race in Nashville, Tennessee, and is winning. At the end of the film, he lost the race out of good intentions, and got a new paint job, but still sponsored by Rust-eze, although at the beginning of the film, he wanted a Dinoco sponsorship. His racing number, "95" is a reference to the year 1995, when Pixar's first feature-length film, Toy Story was released, and his last name "McQueen" is a reference to Glenn McQueen, a supervising animator at Pixar who passed away in 2002.
"Lightning is built for speed and has just two things on his mind: winning and the perks that come with it. In his fast-paced life he has little time for anything or anyone, but who needs friends when you've got a stadium full of fans."
Mater
- Mater: "My name's Mater!" Lightning McQueen: "Mater?" Mater: "Yeah, like "Tuh-Mater", but without the Tuh!"
- —Mater introduces himself to Lightning McQueen
Tuner Cars
The Tuner Cars are a group of street racers that cause mischief (shown to the right). They consist of Boost, DJ, Snot Rod, and Wingo. They play a prank on a drowsy Mack, causing Lightning McQueen to be released out onto Interstate 40 and ultimately end up in Radiator Springs, thus making the gang responsible for Lightning's disappearance. The gang ultimately gets their comeuppance when they make the mistake of speeding in Radiator Springs, causing them to be apprehended by Sheriff and remanded to the impound yard. They are then sentenced by Doc Hudson to pave roads in Radiator Springs using Bessie. In the Cars video game, a specific level relating to these characters is called "Delinquent Road Hazards", leading many fans to refer to their group by this name.Piston Cup race cars

Trev Diesel
"Working for Pacific Flyer Railroad, Trev Diesel has seen a lot of changes alongside his tracks. He's witnessed the coming of the Interstate and the disappearance of many of the small towns he used to pass through, but he's still going strong. He still loves pulling a long haul across the desert at night. It's so peaceful - just Trev, the full moon, and the jackalopes."
Fred
Fred is a rusty, old car that is part of the Rust-eze Fan Club. He has his name on a nameplate (which seems to me, that he doesn't know he has one) and when someone calls him by his name, he says, "He knows my name, He knows my name!" and then his front teeth (or sometimes called bumper) falls off. He is last seen at the end of the movie coming out of Lizzie's with stickers on his bumper. He spins around showing his stickers and then his front bumper falls off."Fred is truly racing's number one fan. Some cars have better wax jobs or attached bumpers, but they do not have the heart and dedication Fred has. Not a chance. Between Fred's racing blogs, podcast, websites, and daily call-ins to numerous radio shows, it's amazing Fred has time to get to any actual races.
Mack
Mack is a character in Cars. Endless days on the road and sleepless nights criss-crossing the country... For some this life would quickly grow old. But not Mack. No sir. Mack knows how important his role is. He's driving Lightning McQueen, the world's fastest racecar. He's part of a team, and everybody knows there's no I in team, just like there's no I in Mack[1] |
Trivia
- Mack is a 1980s-era Mack Super-Liner truck
- When Mack watches the Cars-parodies of previous Pixar movies. He thought who ever did the voice of Hamm, P.T. Flea, and the Yeti as cars is one great actor until he realized they used the same voice actor in all movies and wanders what kind of production cut-rate is this. This is a reference to John Ratzenberger (who protrays Mack) having to protray at least one character in every pixar movie.
